Top 5 drugstore foundations.

I've recently been experimenting with different foundations from the drugstores. My skin is a combination, but more dry, so I tend to go with the dewy finish.
1.

Pros: Buildable. Dewy finish. coverage is good. SPF 15. good packaging.
Cons: Not a variety of colours. Too dark for the winter for my skin tone

Again another rimmel product, and also another favourite of mine.
Pros: Covers most of my imperfections. Not too heavy. Dewy finish. Not cakey. Easy to apply.
Cons: Hard to build up without looking heavy.

A light foundation good for when your skin is looking on the better side. It almost acts like a BB cream.
Pros: evens out skin tones. Nice colours. Easily blended. Refreshing look to the face
Cons: Not for when you have a break out of spots!

This gives a matte finish and is a little different to what I usually go for, but still I like it and I its good enough to go into my top 5.
Pros: Good coverage. Natural. A variety of colours to find your 'True Match'.
Cons: Found it a bit patchy on occasion. Came off easily if I did not powder.

This is a BB cream, but I liked it so much that I think its worth putting it in the blog post.
Pros: Hydrating. SPF 30. non greasy. evens out skin tone. Smoother skin. A radiant glow.
Cons: does not cover imperfections like a foundation, because its BB cream. (not really a good enough reason!)

I recommend all of these foundations if you have combination skin! These are some of the best I found worked for me.
These are my own opinions and in no way am I getting payed to say this. and remember I am not guaranteeing that these are going to work for you as I only tried them out and I'm just recommending them!

3 easy hairstyles for bad hair days

I'm used to always having greasy horrible hair, so with all this experience I've managed to gather up a few good hairstyles for bad hair days. (More like bad hair life!)

Vanessa Hudgens showing off the fish tail braid.
The first hairstyle I've really been enjoying recently is is the 'Fishtail' braid.

Depending on which way you want it (to the side or at the back) Gather all of your hair and split it into two sections.

Pull one strand of hair from one side and cross it over to the other, and do the same on the other side.

Carry on doing this and you'll eventually see the braid coming along.

Tips: Try to keep each strand the same thickness.
Every so often, tighten up the braid.
To go for a messier look pull the hair a little from the sides to create a loser layed back look!

Another hair style is simple waves.

1.All you need to do is wash your hair and wait until it's 90% dry
2.Braid it normally
3.Tie off the ends, depending on how thick your hair is, you can have a different amount of braids. If you have coarse hair then 2 or 3 braids would be sensible!
4. The next morning take the braid out and voila!
Tips: It also works on dry hair, but not as well, for better looking results make sure to spritz it with some water a tiny bit!

Messy Top knot!
one of the most popular hairstyles for bad hair days!

Have your hair 1 or 2 days old from your last wash. (it's okay if it's older or just out of the wash, but I find it works better.)

1.Turn your hair upside down and start pulling it back like you would with a high pony tail.
2.Grab a hair tie and start creating a rough bun shape on the top of your head and tie round it with your elastic. (It may look a bit weird at the moment)
3.Grab another hair band and mould your hair into the shape you want and tie the hair band around it
4.Finally to secure it add bobby pins where needed.
5.To create a messy look pull out bits of hair and pull the hair just slightly to create more volume.
Tips: Take your fringe/bangs out of the bun before tying it up if you like.
Wash your hair roughly 1-2 days before creating this look.
Before hand add some texturising spray to add more volume.
You could add a head band or a little ribbon around your head to add a little something to the bun!

Save space in your makeup bag/draw! (Lipstick)

Firstly, I'd like to apologize that I haven't been on here for so long!
I'd been busy with a few things, but now i'm back, so don't worry!

This is how to save some space in your makeup bag or draw!
What you'll need:

  • A small pot
  • Your unwanted/normal Lipstick.
  • Candle
  • Lighter (To light the candle)
  • and a spoon.
  • A knife (Optional)

For example, I am using a Natural collection lipstick. (To tell the truth I don't like it and I bought ages ago, so I thought I'd give this ago with it, but now I love this idea and I am using it with some of my favourite lipsticks!)
Step one:

Break off the lipstick. If you like you can use a knife to get the rest out from inside the tube!

Step two:
Light your candle!

Step 3
Get your spoon and pop the lipstick on top of the candle. and slowly wait for it too melt!

Waiting..

Still waiting...
.... and done!

Step four:
Pour it into the mini pot.

Step 5:
Wait for it to dry..

Step 6:
Screw the lid on and throw it in your handbag! (Or draw or makeupbag!)

I'll have things on this sometime soon, meanwhile.. Check out the rest of my blog and follow me for a follow back :)
Comment on the other things also and request what you want me to review or post on my blog :)

Information

I review things on my blog and I say what I think about them, I am NOT being payed to review things and say good things about them, if I get sent something to review, it'll be 100% honest opinion.
Sometime I have things at home that could be reviewed, but are so bad I don't bother!
I tend to just review the better things, but if I am going review something that has been requested or sent to me, i'll be truthful about it!
Just letting you know so you can trust my opinion on things.

Pictures

I'll upload these soon, i'm not too sure what i'll take pictures of.. hhmmmm

Top Shop Lipstick review!

The other month, I purchased Topshop lipstick for £8 each. I got 'Mexican Wave' - A bright orangey redish colour. and 'Lengend' - A bright dark pinky colour.. I don't know how to explain it..

I can't find the link on the website! Have they stopped doing them? :(
The camera hasn't quite picked up the true colour of these, but they are near enough!
I'd never really tried out Top Shop makeup when I bought these, but now i'm a little bit obsessed!
The Lipsticks really moisturize your lips when you put them on and just feel so nice!
I thought that £8 was quite alot of money just for a clothing store lipstick, but it turns out it really is worth it!
I now have other colours, but they are currenly at someone elses house, but they are: Whimsical £8 and Nevada - £8
If you are looking for a middle priced Lipstick that is a long lasting and great quality Lipstick, then I reccomend these!
MY ONLY PROBLEM!
The packaging gets dirty in my make up bag, so it doesn't stay all nice and pretty forever, but the product does, don't worry!

Loreal Paris Studio Hot Curl & Straight spray - Empties!

These two babies are just a couple of my many empty bottles!
I've been trying different sprays for my hair to protect my hair against the heat of my straighters and curlers!
I tried Vo5, Toni & Guy and other brands, this brand was my favourite, although Toni and Guy are very closely followed!
At such a good price  I couldn't resist buying these as quite often, Loreal do a 2 for £4 offer on all their studio line
I've used this brand for ages now, and I have many empty Bottles!
(I have plenty more bottles!) I save the bottles in case I want to do D.I.Y Homemade things.

I use this most often, as I straighten my hair more than I curl it so I get through this faster.
I love this as after straightening your hair, you have a soft silky touch to your hair. I think it does the heat protection bit well! (I can't really tell)
I think it's essential that if you use heat on your hair then you have to have some kind of heat protection.

This stuff also does a good job ,your hair looks shiny and silky and it get protected from your curlers! Does pretty much the same, but for curling hair!

The only problem I have with these products are, I get through them quite quickly, but then I straighten and curl my hair alot and use quite a bit! If you are looking for something to keep your hair in good condition, then these are great!

A Primark Haul!

I am in love with a shop called 'Primark.' It's full of nice things and cheap prices, although you can find the odd horrible thing and some things with ridiculous prices! Over all the shop keeps up to date with fashion and keeps them at reasonable prices.
So of course, I went shopping with a friend, again, for about the fifth time. It's our little tradition to get the early morning train and pop into primark and eat a small pot of Ben and Jerry's cookie dough Ice cream (Very nice by the way) and shop around for bargains and be the first to see all the nice clothes.
So as soon as I walked in the shop, something caught my eye...

This was a spur of the moment purchase. I do that alot by the way. I am missing a few things (The eye liner and Mascara) The brush isn't very good. but the blush and eye shadows are great and very pigmented! The lipgloss aren't that great, but still work. Overall a great purchase for only £4.

These are quite cute and nice to wear and I bought these for only £1 along with other bits and pieces. :)

I bought this also to go with my earings, but I don't think I'll wear them together, hmm maybe.. I bought these for around the £1-£2 mark!

This purse, is amazing. I love it. Its cute and sophisticated and a medium sized purse, but when you open it, you'll feel like Mary Poppins! It has millios of card holders and different sections to put your money in and plenty of space to chuck receipts in and fits in most bags, unless the bag is tiny. This was only £5!

This bag, its amazing. I didn't like it much at first, but i've grown to love it. It has secret compartments and fits that very nice purse inside it too! Its not an overly big bag, infact its quite small and perfect to sling on! Only £4!

I now got into a bit of an obsession with tshirts with collars. This is a nice top, but a black top needs to be worn underneath! Only £5 Bargain!
Another lovely top, but for £10. Such a pretty top! But should still be worn over a vest or t shirt or something!

This lovely skirt looks better on someone then off, when I picked it up I liked it, but wasn't sure! When I tried it on I fell in love with it, It showed off my figure and just made me look quite nice for a change! £6. (In black)
Another top! £10. Really pretty and again, needs to be worn over something. I love these tops and there cute collars and buttons!
I have a few more things, but i'll save them for the next Primark haul!
Thankyou :)

Garnier Summer Body & Body 7 days review.

I purchased summer body from boots for around £7 for a 400ml bottle, not reading the label saying it was a self tanner. I used this and was surprised to see a sun kissed look on my legs and arms!

I had a closer look and realized it was a self tanner, and I'd bought the shade 'Dark'.

I loved it and would get compliments on how I was so tanned, I admitted it was moisturizer to everyone, but I thought it looked quite natural, but seeing as it was a rainy day, I looked a bit out of place next to pale legs.

I think this is a great product for summer this year in 2013 and I am looking forward to using it for then. It smells of Apricots, moisturizes your skin and just leaves you looking sun kissed. It doesn't leave horrible marks on your legs as long as you rub the stuff in properly and apply even amounts on the leg. There isn't much wrong with this, apart from it doesn't actually work immediately  i'd say it takes a couple of hours to work, but I apply it in the evening and wait over night to wake up with lovely legs!

Garnier Body Intensive 7 days. - £2.99 250ml - Boots.
I picked this up in boots looking to try it out as I had seen a few people had been raving about this. So I bought it to find out I love it!
I use it more than the self tanning one, as I don't think people have tans in the winter! But it is getting closer to summer, so i'll be using the other one soon. It says its fast absorbent  YES! I love it because of that, its not an immediate absorbent thingy, but it doesn't leave you feeling sticky and as soon as you've rubbed it in, you can just put your trousers over the top again without your legs sticking!
It made my skin feel nice and smooth as I have fairly rough skin that's dry and it needs a lot of attention! I got this exact one: Garnier Body, Intensive 7 days Replenishing Lotion with L-Bifidus* Nutritive Mango Oil. Dry Skin. Fast absorbing. (I know there are a few different versions that looks practically the same!)

Over all both of these products are amazing and I recommend them both. The self tanning one is great for a summery sun kissed look and the Garnier Body one is good for when you just want to replenish your dry skin!

Garnier Moisture Match Shine be gone review.

I sent for Garnier Moisture Match Shine be gone, for combination to oily skin. As I have a very combinated skin type, I have dry skin in some places, yet I get quite oily around my nose and chin and other places.
So I bought this to test out.
The packaging is fine and just looks simple and ordinary. Nothing exciting, but nothing bad.
The product it's self was a creamy substance with a green tint to it.
I used this after I took my makeup off in the evening and I didn't see immediate results, but i rubbed it in and my face just felt, nicer! It wasn't smooth, but it was better than before hand and my face just appeared brighter and healthier and washed.
I used this in the morning before applying my makeup. My face felt refreshed and looked better. I looked a bit red, but that was sorted after waiting a bit.
The only down sides to this product is you have to rub this in quite a lot and it doesn't absorb as well as others because if you don't rub it in, you look like you've been sweating bucket loads!
I don't know if it happens to anyone, but when I used this product I was a bit red afterwards, but it did fade and this happens to my skin a lot as its VERY sensitive.
This can be bought from Superdrug for £5.99, but right now its on offer for only £3.99!
Remember, this is what I think of it and i'm not guaranteeing it'll work on your skin, its just it works for me.
BUT if you do have combination to oily skin, then its quite good, but if you have sensitive skin, then I reccomend thinking twice before you buy as I was a bit red and a tiny bit itchy on my face!
Hope you like it! ;)
Please leave a comment on what you think and i'll leave a comment on your blog! ;)

Lou recommends!

I guess this is my first proper blog post and it's only a quickie! I'm just going to recommend something that I probably couldn't live without.
This is the stuff I use pretty much all the time.
I straighten my hair every 1 or 2 days and that makes my hair in bad condition, with split ends, dry hair and just unhealthy looking hair with no gloss or shine.
Then I started using this everytime I washed my hair after towel drying my hair. (Roughly 3 or 4 times a week) It is £6.99 and is an absolute bargain for what it does. I get compliments on my hair occasionally and they ask how i do it. I just love this stuff as my hair now feels knot free, soft, shiny, healthy and definitely not dry! :D
I got it from Boots, but I Heard there are other brands very good too.
I also love the Shampoo and Conditioner!
Shampoo and conditioner - £6.99 each -Boots
I definitely recommend if you have dry hair, or just want something to feed your hair! :D
